Madras HC Gets New Chief Justice

Justice Indira Banerjee was sworn-in as the Chief Justice of the Madras High Court.

Tamil Nadu Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao administered the oath of office to Justice Banerjee.

Earlier, Banerjee (59) served as a judge in the Delhi High Court.

Justice Banerjee enrolled as an advocate in 1985 and practiced both in the original and appellate sides of Calcutta High Court in all branches of law except criminal.

She was appointed permanent judge of Calcutta High Court in February 2002 and was transferred to Delhi High Court in August 2016.
